The Configuration Management Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the configuration of Kaseware, Inc.'s information systems. This includes ensuring the security posture of systems is documented and maintained, adhering to regulatory guidance (NIST 800-53), and controlling changes to the IT environment. The role involves developing and implementing configuration management policies and procedures, managing baseline configurations, and coordinating configuration change control activities.

The role involves developing and implementing configuration management policies and procedures, managing baseline configurations, and coordinating configuration change control activities.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Develop, document, and disseminate configuration management policies and procedures.
- Maintain baseline configurations for development, testing, staging, demo, and production environments.
- Manage the configuration change control process, including reviewing and approving changes, documenting decisions, and ensuring implementation.
- Prioritize and manage configuration changes, including urgent/emergency, high, medium, and low priority changes.
- Retain records of configuration-controlled changes for one year.
- Audit and review configuration management activities.
- Analyze changes to information systems to determine potential security impacts.
- Define, document, and enforce physical and logical access restrictions associated with changes.
- Establish and document configuration settings for IT products using security configuration checklists.
- Configure information systems to provide only essential capabilities and restrict prohibited functions, ports, protocols, and services.
- Develop, document, and maintain an inventory of information system components.
- Create and implement a configuration management plan, including source code revision control.
- Protect the configuration management plan and source code from unauthorized access.
- Coordinate configuration management activities with other departments and external organizations as needed.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidance, particularly NIST Special Publication 800-53, Revision 5.1.
- Update and maintain the configuration management policy at least annually.
- Manage the Configuration Management process.
- Facilitate the enforcement of the Configuration Management Policy.
- Intervene in activities that conflict with the Configuration Management Policy.
- Ensure that Configuration Management is conducted/performed for each required client.
- Maintain and provide needed tools to be used for the Configuration Management.
- Track changes within the environment with regard to information system configurations.
Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree (Required)
- Experience in configuration management and IT operations (Required)
- Knowledge of security best practices and regulatory requirements (e.g., NIST 800-53) (Required)
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, software development, and network operations (Required)
Required Skills:
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency with cloud environments
- Infrastructure as code
- Proficiency with current DevOps practices/technologies
- Proficiency with configuration management tools and software.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Familiarity with issue tracking systems (e.g., Jira).
Required Experience:
- SaaS or similar technical environment, minimum of 3 years (Required)
- IT or Agile Project Management, 1 year (Preferred)
- Security Operations experience, 1 year (Preferred)
