About the Role
As our Senior Data Architect, you will be the strategic owner of Zonos' data architecture. You'll design and oversee data structures, pipelines, and governance frameworks to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure data flows across the business. Your work will enable actionable insights, operational efficiency, and innovative data products that impact Zonos and our customers globally.

What You'll Do
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable data architecture aligned with business and technical requirements.
- Define data standards, governance, and best practices to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.
- Build and optimize data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and storage from multiple sources.
- Partner closely with engineering, product, and analytics teams to understand data needs and deliver robust solutions.
- Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes for our evolving data stack.
- Lead initiatives to democratize data access and enable self-service analytics across the organization.
- Ensure data privacy and compliance with regulations (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
- Mentor engineers and analysts on data architecture and engineering best practices.
- Play a key role in our journey toward data platform maturity, including modern data warehousing, real-time data processing, and machine learning enablement.
What You'll Bring
- 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or a related role.
- Proven experience designing and implementing scalable data architectures in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Strong expertise in SQL, data modeling, ETL design, and data pipeline orchestration.
- Experience with modern data stack tools (e.g., dbt, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Airflow, Kafka, etc.).
- Solid understanding of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills - able to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with ecommerce, payments, logistics, or cross-border trade data.
What we offer
- Target compensation range of $147k-$184k: Actual salaries will vary based on various factors such as education, experience, training, scope, etc. The salary noted is just one component of our total compensation package.
