Starting pay $145-160k annually, commensurate with experience.

The Vice President of Business Services (Commercial Lending) will direct and coordinate all business lending and deposit activities of the credit union
  • Works with Chief Growth Officer to establish the strategic direction of business lending and implements the strategy by developing and carrying out business plans annually.
  • Responsible for business development, establishing long term referral sources with commercial realtors, CPA firms, attorneys, financial planners, etc.
  • Maintains adequate workflow and training for the business lending function. Develops credibility by acting as a role model, providing leadership, and coaching management and staff toward appropriate behavior and job performance. Conducts performance evaluations, creates and maintains a high-quality work environment where staff is motivated to perform at their highest levels. Conducts interviews and makes recommendations regarding hiring.
  • Enhance member service, improve efficiency and reduce cost, while ensuring a safe, sound, and productive operation. Conducts credit review and investigations for prospective and existing credit union members.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and developments in the local real estate market.
  • Administers SBA lending activities to include compilation of the package, credit analysis, making the decision, collection maintenance and required reporting.
  • Executes approvals and denials within the credit union's established guidelines.
  • Oversees risk management assets and minimize losses, including assistance with auditors and examiners.
  • Monitors and documents applicable vendor performance, security and viability.
  • Resolves escalated member complaints, as necessary.
  • Communicates with all related management and staff on supporting strategies and procedures.
  • Drives operational excellence by leveraging technology to improve the efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Oversees the preparation, implementation, and supervision of the budget.

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Business and/or equivalent work experience. Minimum of 5 years working in Commercial/Business Lending, leading teams within a financial institution. Sound knowledge working with the commercial loan underwriting, processing, collection, and workout activities with all business loan types.
