BIM Manager

The BIM Manager is responsible for proactively leading the BIM team and coordinating across design disciplines to develop best practices and strategies related to digital design, building information modeling (BIM), and design technology. BIM Managers work with both the production teams and other Practice Technology team members to accomplish day-to-day and strategic objectives like improved model quality, standardization development, and new technology adoption. Working from any of our office locations across seven states (FL, GA, NY, NC, OH, PA, SC, and VA) to support all project teams, this role champions the continued integration of BIM across a multidisciplinary production team by serving as a knowledge resource and educator.

THE BIM MANAGER AT CPL

As a member of our enterprise-level technology team, the BIM Manager supports project teams by leveraging the full potential of the BIM process and taking a holistic approach to BIM process adoption across all disciplines within our market sectors. Reporting to the Sr. BIM Manager, your drawings, standards documents, industry experience, and Revit knowledge help us maintain the highest standards for our clients. You're passionate about finding new ways to streamline productivity and are recognized for your ability to consistently brainstorm inspired ideas for overall improvement, which you enjoy sharing with your fellow team members.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
  • You've earned a bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management or related field, with 5+ years' experience.
  • You have three to five years of BIM experience in architectural, engineering, construction, or related firm.
  • You understand project delivery types like design build, IPD, and hard-bid.
  • You have experience with multiple tools within Autodesk's AEC Collection software suite.
  • You have a demonstrable understanding of Autodesk Revit including content creation and management, BIM best practices, standards development, and model health.
  • You can demonstrate a strong understanding of the Autodesk Construction Cloud
  • You have established experience producing technical documentation and educational resources.
  • You have expertise in the interoperability of BIM and design/engineering tools
  • You take a proactive approach to learning new technologies
  • You demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
  • You have a strong interest in and aptitude for creative problem-solving
  • You have experience with design visualization applications such as Enscape, Lumion, and/or TwinMotion
  • Experience with computational design solutions like Dynamo and Grasshopper a plus but not required.
  • You possess the ability to lead, coach, and develop others.
  • You demonstrate strong planning and organizational skills
  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit and embrace change and consistently seek out new opportunities for creativity and innovation.

CORE DUTIES
  • Support the development and distribution of learning materials to support BIM process adoption and CPL standards
  • Conduct software and workflow training with project-level teams to hone collective skills and improve overall team performance
  • Perform on-site/real-time project shadowing to team members across all disciplines to support and integrate BIM processes into their workflows
  • Respond to requests for troubleshooting support
  • Develop learning materials, coordinate effective training, and provide ongoing knowledge resources to project teams.
  • Champion compliance with CPL delivery and BIM standards
  • Coordinate and facilitate project direct services like BIM planning, BIM kick-off meetings, model health checks, and model coordination.
  • Rotate through projects to ensure standards and best practices are being adhered to and models are performing to maximum potential
  • Coordinate with project teams to develop and manage Revit content libraries, templates, and other CPL BIM standards
  • Additional responsibilities as required by Practice Technology leadership.

The rate for this position generally ranges between $80-120K annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by New York Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employees already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee's pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.
