This is a hybrid role with the successful candidate working on-site in Sacramento when required.
The Infrastructure Engineer II is responsible for troubleshooting and monitoring enterprise-class server hardware in both datacenter and edge compute environments. This role requires expertise in VMWare infrastructure, experience with patching Windows servers, and a solid understanding of SAN storage. Additionally, the engineer will perform Windows server changes and manage these changes using ServiceNow Change Management. The ideal candidate will also have an understanding of digital certificates and certificate management, experience with automation tools such as Tanium and SCCM, and the ability to lead troubleshooting calls and communicate clearly. Furthermore, experience with Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP is essential for this role. Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell is also required. The engineer will also be responsible for vendor engagement, escalation, and management.
Participates in the development of enterprise technology, solutions, systems, storage, network and telecommunications engineering designs that are used as a basis for consolidating and standardizing infrastructure throughout Sutter Health and its affiliates. Participates in interpreting architecture requirements, design, product evaluations, selection, configuration, installation, testing and integration of new technology in order to better support the needs of Sutter Health and its affiliates. Heavily involved in human-interface computing devices and their integration with clinical and technical workflows and infrastructure.

Pay Range is $44.28 to $66.42 / hour
The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. - Associate's in Information Systems Technical field
TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:
- 1 year recent relevant experience
- Experience troubleshooting and monitoring enterprise-class server hardware in both data center and edge compute environments
- Ability to maintain accurate technical documentation and contribute to internal knowledge bases; Proficiency with VMware infrastructure and patching Windows servers; Solid understanding of SAN storage, digital certificates, and certificate management; Experience with automation and systems management tools such as Tanium and SCCM; Familiarity with core infrastructure services, including Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
- Scripting proficiency in languages such as PowerShell for task automation and system administration
- Experience performing Windows server changes and managing change processes using ServiceNow Change Management
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to lead troubleshooting calls and clearly convey technical issues and solutions
- Demonstrated experience engaging with vendors, including managing escalations and issue resolution
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Demonstrated knowledge of storage performance, data replication, storage area network (SAN) based backup, load balancing, storage virtualization methods, and SAN zoning and provisioning.
