Key job responsibilities

We are looking for a Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) on our Media Enablement Team (MET) within Amazon Ads. You will partner with senior leaders of our product, engineering and Business Development teams to build out a robust business intelligence function. You will develop and deliver dashboards and reports for recurring business reviews as well as handle deeper insights to influence product direction. You will translate broad business problems into specific analytics projects, conducting deep quantitative analyses, and communicating results effectively. You will work closely with data engineers and data scientists to invest and develop BI infrastructure. You will be expected to have strong technical skills and extremely strong quantitative and analytical capabilities, able to understand the business context and underlying drivers of key performance metrics.

A successful candidate will have a passion for data and analytics, know and love working with BI tools, be comfortable accessing and working with big data from multiple sources, and can partner effectively with internal stakeholders to help drive the business. They will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, an ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, and driven by a desire to innovate.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 5+ years of professional or military experience

- 5+ years of SQL experience

- Experience programming to extract, transform and clean large (multi-TB) data sets

- Experience with theory and practice of design of experiments and statistical analysis of results

- Experience with AWS technologies

- Experience in scripting for automation (e.g. Python) and advanced SQL skills.

- Experience with theory and practice of information retrieval, data science, machine learning and data mining

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate between data and business needs

- Experience managing, analyzing and communicating results to senior leadership

- 5+ years in the advertising or adtech industry. High familiarity with DSPs, SSPs, DMPs, pub adservers, agency holdcos, OpenRTB, programmatic deals, and ad supply funnels

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $117,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $202,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
