This Opportunity
WSP is seeking a dynamic Senior Program Manager - Mountain Pacific Transit & Rail Programs to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with Utah clients to deliver transit and rail programs and establish effective oversight and monitoring protocols during construction. You will manage large multi-year projects and project teams of 20-30 staff. Additionally, you will be part of the leadership team in Utah, Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico, developing strategies for transit and rail projects throughout the Mountain Region. Your expertise in the FTA CIG process will be crucial in assisting projects nationwide during grant development and execution.
This position will be based out of our South Jordan, UT Location.

This position will be based out of our South Jordan, UT Location.
Your Impact
- Leadership Role: Participate in the leadership team to develop strategies for transit and rail projects across multiple states.
- Collaboration: Work closely with national business lines to provide strategic insights and expertise for project delivery on current and future projects.
- Industry Engagement: Maintain strong connections with industry committees and organizations to stay updated on best practices and emerging trends.
- Expertise Application: Utilize your knowledge in grant processes to support various projects nationwide during their development and execution phases.
- Team Management: Oversee large projects/programs and lead a team of approximately 20-30 staff.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition: Partner with internal talent acquisition teams to drive hiring efforts for the group.
- Budget Oversight: Manage annual project budgets in the realm of $3-10 million.
- Project Areas: Supervise various aspects of the project, including:
- Capital program
- Planning
- Environmental compliance
- Engineering and design
- Project controls
- Cost estimating
- Construction quality oversight
- Vehicle engineering
- Systems and signals
- Public engagement
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- 15+ Years Post-Education Experience in Engineering, Business Development, or a similar designation.
- Engineering License
- In-depth knowledge of multi-modal transportation design standards and regulations.
- Experience working through all phases of projects from funding, planning, design, construction, and maintenance.
- Strong people skills and the ability to develop relationships with clients and partners.
- Demonstrated ability with establishing, implementing, and managing multiple larger-scale discipline-related programs, documents, projects, and practices for a line(s) of business.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to manage staff, and effectively, persuasively, and tactfully interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Strategic lateral thinking and strong analytical skills with attention to detail and prioritization of responsibilities in a pressure work environment.
- Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including senior management, clients, and company-wide staff, including those with whom no formal hierarchical relationship exits.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

- Alternative delivery experience a plus.
- Recognized leader in transit/transportation.
- Account management experience.
