Under the general direction of the Program Manager in the Reliability Reserve Incentives Branch of the Reliability, Renewable Energy & Decarbonization Incentives (RREDI) Division, the incumbent independently leads and performs difficult and complex engineering, economic, and policy analysis relating to engineering and economic studies of alternative electric generation methods and fuels as well as grid resilience and reliability, demand flexibility, renewable energy, and distributed energy resources. The incumbent develops and analyzes alternatives to current electric generation methods, evaluates new electric generation technologies and their relationships to present and future resource plans for transitioning California's clean, reliable energy system and economy to achieve the goals of the Strategic Reliability Reserve. With a high degree of skill, the incumbent provides consultative services on the feasibility, impact, or potential of a variety of proposed legislation, operations, projects, programs, or proposals.
REDDI's focus is on implementing incentive and financing programs across multiple policy areas: reliability, renewable energy, and building decarbonization. The Reliability Reserve Incentives Branch has primary responsibility of analyzing and implementing policies and incentive programs that advance grid resilience and reliability, demand flexibility, renewable energy, and distributed energy resources.

Working Conditions
This position provides hybrid telework opportunities, with employees required to work in-person at least two days per week. Beginning July 1, 2025, all employees may be required to work in-person at least four days per week in alignment with Executive Order N-22-25. Occasional travel may be required based on the needs of the division. Regular and consistent attendance is essential to successful performance.
Teleworking is only available for employees who reside in California. You must be relocated to California and provide your in-state address prior to your start date.
New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable.
