Job Title: Benefits Manager, Human Resources - Full-Time
FLSA Status: Salaried Exempt

Location: Aurora, Colorado- Hybrid

Pay: $80k-$90k

Job Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Benefits Manager to join our Human Resources team. This is an exciting opportunity to shape and drive benefits programs that support a diverse employee population, while ensuring compliance, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with company goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Broker & Vendor Management:
    • Oversee relationships with brokers, carriers, and external partners to ensure optimal plan offerings and service delivery.
    • Manage vendor relationships, including overseeing the company's Individual Health Reimbursement Arrangement (ICHRA) plan.


  • Audits & Compliance:
    • Lead audits of benefit programs to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct regular audits of bills and vendor invoices (e.g., MetLife) to ensure accuracy and compliance with contracts.
    • Maintain and update benefits policies, plan documents, and related compliance materials.
    • Ensure compliance with the Affordable Care Act (ACA), including benefits eligibility tracking and year-end tax reporting requirements.
    • Oversee 401(k) plan administration, including acquisition transitions and annual processes.


  • Benefit System Integration and Administration:
    • Oversee the benefits management system to ensure accurate data management and process efficiency.
    • Integrate file feeds between the benefits system and new/existing vendors for seamless data exchanges and compliance.
    • Maintain and update benefit systems to reflect open enrollment elections and plan changes.


  • Acquisition Integration:
    • Lead benefit-related transitions during mergers and acquisitions, ensuring seamless integration for employees.


  • Employee Education & Training:
    • Develop and oversee employee education initiatives to ensure understanding of benefit offerings and changes.


  • Open Enrollment:
    • Manage the annual open enrollment process, including plan design, communication, and employee support.


  • Benefits Escalations and Other Duties:
    • Serve as the escalation point for complex benefits issues.
    • Other duties as assigned.


Key Competencies:
  • Strong knowledge and experience with benefits administration and compliance, including ACA, FMLA, State Paid Leave (Colorado), and ADA.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees in one-on-one and group settings.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple processes simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, especially in managing benefits data.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion.
  • Expertise in managing benefits systems, integrating file feeds with vendors, and updating system configurations for open enrollment.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
  • Experience leading and mentoring a team, fostering a culture of growth and development.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in benefits administration or a related role.
  • Experience with Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangements (ICHRA) and managing relationships with ICHRA administrators is a plus.
  • Proven leadership experience, with a track record of effectively managing and developing teams.
  • Strong experience administering employee benefits plans, 401(k) administration, ACA guidelines, FMLA, and ADA requirements.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and benefits management software.
