Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) or College of Registered Psychiatric Nurse of Alberta (CRPNA) is required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required. Additional Required Qualifications:
At least three (3) years of recent (within the last two years) and related inpatient surgical nursing experience (general surgery / orthopedic surgery) is required. At least one (1) year of recent (within the last two years) and related inpatient surgical charge nurse experience is required. Must be able to independently take a patient assignment as required and respond to a code blue or rapid response. Must stand for long periods and walk for extended periods of time shift. Regularly required to lift in excess of ten (10) pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
Must be proficient working in a computerized environment including MS Office Suite. Must be flexible, tactful with a positive reinforcement style and excellent conflict resolution skills.Must have excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Must be self-motivated, self-directed and able to implement resolutions: must have excellent problem solving skills. Committed to safe, effective and ethical patient care and work practices.
