As our Manager, Network Planning and Strategy, you will be the architect of Porter's expanding network, directly influencing our future hub strategy and driving our ambitious growth plans. You will leverage your analytical expertise and industry knowledge to optimize our network, identify new opportunities, and ensure we maintain a competitive edge. Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic Network Development:
  • Lead the development and execution of Porter's flight schedule strategy, encompassing flight timings, growth phasing, and hub structure optimization.
  • Craft and present compelling seasonal growth plans to senior leadership, providing data-driven recommendations for network expansion.
  • Develop and maintain long-range schedules to guide the airline's financial and operational planning, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.


Profitability and Performance Analysis:
  • Conduct ongoing profitability analysis of flight routes, identifying risks and opportunities to maximize revenue and optimize resource allocation.
  • Provide critical capacity input for the annual budget process, aligning with profitability and utilization targets.
  • Monitor and report on competitive market dynamics, identifying emerging trends and potential threats.


Data-Driven Decision Making:

  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of industry data, proactively seeking and integrating new data sources to enhance network planning decisions.
  • Leverage data analytics to identify network optimization opportunities and drive strategic initiatives.


Partnership and Collaboration:

  • Collaborate closely with the Partnerships team to analyze and optimize existing and potential codeshare, interline, and joint venture partnerships.
  • Represent Porter in the ongoing development of strategic network partnerships.
  • Maintain strong communication and collaboration with key commercial stakeholders, including Revenue Management, Sales, and Marketing.


Communication and Reporting:
  • Develop and deliver clear and concise presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint to communicate network objectives, changes, and accomplishments to diverse stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in Porter's Safety Management System (SMS) including reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in network planning and/or strategy within the airline industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of the airline industry and the Canada market.
  • A strategic thinker with a passion for driving growth and innovation.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a knack for translating data into actionable insights.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and inspire stakeholders at all levels.
  • A collaborative leader with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Experience with financial planning and budgeting.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a requirement, with proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications an asset.
  • Experience with airline network O&D analysis software is an asset.
  • Experience with airline scheduling software (Zulu, Sabre or similar) is an asset.
  • Data analytics expertise, including experience in SQL and Tableau, is considered an asset.
  • University degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Economics, Statistics, or a Mathematical or Science discipline is an asset.
