Your Role
The Business-to-Business (B2B) Growth team develops strategies for B2B commercial acquisition, retention and go-to-market initiatives to support sales enablement. The Marketing Communications, Principal - B2B will report to the Senior Manager, B2B Growth. In this role you will lead and develop a variety of communications that uniquely express Blue Shield's mission, vision and capabilities to key audiences including brokers, consultants, and employer groups. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced marketing professional with excellent communication skills to gain a deep understanding of a variety of key functional areas at Blue Shield.

Responsibilities
Your Work
In this role, you will:
- Distill complex problems to solve, connect strategic insights, and craft resolutions that align with strategic growth targets
- Create communication materials that convey Blue Shield capabilities through collateral such as PowerPoint slides, talking points, FAQs to visualize depict the story and influence decisions
- Works closely with Senior Manager and Director for direction on large scale, complex projects
- Own and lead the direction of the communications strategy based on insights and key learnings with the distinct ability to represent sales needs and understand SME content in a way that distills the information into clear, effective communications
- Use data to develop strong communications strategies focusing on organization growth at a state-wide and local level
- Work cross-functionally and lead the effort in gathering information from a variety of departments within Blue Shield to effectively communicate our mission, vision, clinical story, network, products, customer experience, government affairs and other key initiatives and developments that impact brokers, consultants, and employer groups
- Synthesize complex information into simple and compelling messaging that showcases Blue Shield's unique value and capabilities while reinforcing the brand
- Partner with other lines of business for content development, document management and distribution
- Collaborate with creative resources as needed for production of materials
- Develop and maintain a strong knowledge of the commercial sales and account management process
- Partner with B2B Marketing Strategist on the B2B communications strategy and annual communications calendar
- Collaborate with sales training team on planning and coordination of key topics that require communications
- Liaison with digital teams for web (e.g. broker portal, group coverage website)
- Works on special projects as designated by senior manager
Qualifications
Your Knowledge and Experience
- Requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Requires at least 10 years of prior relevant experience
- Requires expertise in B2B-focused marketing and communications
- Requires ability to synthesize and organize complex information for stakeholders
- Requires strong written and oral communications skills
- In-depth knowledge of health plans and insurance products and services strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of communications principles and practices strongly preferred
- Embraces change, exemplifies agile principles, embodies a continuous improvement mindset, anticipating business needs while being flexible with shifting priorities
- Strong business acumen with critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making expertise in collaboration with creative teams, project partners and internal customers, driving clarity when and where needed
- Excellent organizational and project management skills and ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with external partners and internal colleagues across the organization to overcome challenges and meet deadlines
