Pay Range $49.10 - $65.06

Plans, coordinates, and manages various functions, including performance improvement, nursing education, and staffing effectiveness across all medical center nursing departments. Initiates and coordinates change projects. Serves as the Advisor of the various Practice Councils such as the Nursing Practice Committee. Supervises the Nursing Educators.

The Director of Nursing Practice at Samaritan Medical Center offers a unique opportunity to lead and shape the future of nursing education. As a seasoned leader, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive nursing education programs that enhance the quality of care delivered by our nurses.

Develop and implement a nursing education philosophy that aligns with the organizational priorities and goals.

Develops and maintains an Evidence Based Practice Model to encourage and move toward evidence-based nursing practice.

Work with Nursing Administration to Identify a Nursing Theorist, Nursing Model of Care, and Nursing Mission.

Oversight of the Graduate Nurse/ Residency Program and coordinate with third -party vendors (Vizient) and evaluate effectiveness using data-driven decisions to improve outcomes.

Qualifications: BSN required, MSN preferred

Licensure: Current NY RN License required.

The Director of Nursing Professional Development reports to the Chief Nursing Officer.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education Requirement: Master's degree required.

Minimum Experience Requirement: Five years of recent clinical experience required. Experience in curriculum development and instructional design desired. Demonstrates knowledge of adult education principles, lerner-centerd training, needs assessments and performance evaluation. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills required. Must be highly motivated, creative, self-directed, articulate, and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. Must possess a comprehensive broad based knowledge and the ability to interact with all levels of staff within the Samaritan organization. Must have the ability to utilize a variety of educational tools and equipment.

Minimum License Requirement: Current license as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State. BLS Instructor desired.
