Sourcing Engineer

Description:
Timpte is growing and looking to add a Sourcing Engineer to our team! We're looking for someone with technical aptitude to support our sourcing strategies, supplier management and cost reduction initiatives.
Pay for this position is $95-120k/year + Monthly bonus.
Responsibilities:
New product sourcing and cost optimization.
Supplier evaluation and monitoring.
Quality and risk management.
Total cost improvement.
Identify, evaluate, and approve suppliers based on technical capabilities, production capacity, and quality standards.
Conduct technical reviews of supplier capabilities, manufacturing processes, and quality control systems to ensure they meet project specifications.
Guide teams in addressing supplier challenges beyond routine tasks.
Support new product introductions (NPI) by identifying, sourcing, and qualifying suppliers and products.
Review technical drawings and recommend improvements for manufacturability and cost reduction.
Analyze supplier quotes and identify opportunities to reduce costs through price negotiation, value engineering, and sourcing strategy development.
Lead cost-saving initiatives by enhancing product manufacturability, creating economies of scale, and optimizing supply chains.
Ensure a seamless transition between sourcing and materials planning/operations to maintain supply chain efficiency.
Assist in resolving quality-related supplier issues in collaboration with the quality and engineering teams.
Establish and implement supplier contingency and risk mitigation plans for sole-source and critical components.
Ensure compliance with supplier agreements, contracts, and legal documentation in alignment with company policies.
Performs additional duties as assigned by management or required by the position.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience.
Familiarity with sourcing strategies, contract management, and negotiation techniques.
3-5 years of engineering or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience in supplier evaluation and cost analysis.
Knowledge of principles and methods of transportation for the movement of components by air, rail, sea, or road, including the relative costs and benefits for both domestic and international purchases.
Excellent organizational and planning skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work well with all levels of management and staff.
Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs; including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Ability to manage multiple sourcing projects and meet deadlines.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
