The Data Center and Energy BU's purpose is to engineer a decarbonized, cleaner, and a more sustainable electrified future, and drive efficiencies in data centers. Developing solutions for the digitized grid; renewable energy generation; energy transmission, distribution, and storage; EV charging infrastructure; smart meters; and energy conversion, the group supports customers with break-through technology to convert, manage, and store electrical power.

The Role
The Staff Power Systems Integration Engineer will lead the design and delivery of innovative system solutions to customers in the electric energy ecosystem, from the modernization of the transmission and distribution grid to green energy generation, and electric power conversion to energy storage systems. Product types include advanced grid sensors, smart meters, photovoltaic (PV) inverters, EV fast chargers, EV On-board Chargers, and ACDC and DCDC power supplies. The role requires a flexible and highly skilled systems engineer with expertise in electronic system and applications design while possessing strong communication and interpersonal skills. The candidate should relish finding elegant solutions to complex system level challenges.
Requirements
The candidate should have a firm grasp of hardware design principles and also understand embedded software development and control loop design for electric energy systems. Strong candidates will have many of the following experience and qualifications:

- Develop electrical energy systems from concept, through architecture and design to production.
- Identify and derive requirements from customer needs through to system requirements.
- Contribute to the architecture based on requirements (appropriate systems modelling and capturing into a requirements management tool) and coordinate it with the customer and internal stakeholders including software, hardware, security, and functional safety.
- Conduct design reviews with project team.
- Design, build, and test electric energy products with a focus on power conversion systems
- Work with marketing on product strategy planning and customer engagement.
- Opportunities exist to lead projects or a team to accomplish group goals.
Requirements
The candidate should have a firm grasp of hardware design principles and also understand embedded software development and control loop design for electric energy systems. Strong candidates will have many of the following experience and qualifications:
- Minimum BS in Electrical Engineering; MSEE and 8+ years of experience preferred.
- The candidate is expected to employ systems thinking and have demonstrated excellence in systems design in one or more electric energy industries within the last 5-10 years.
- Experience in designing hardware and/or software for one or more of the following, with emphasis on high voltage power conversion system design (such as solar PV inverters, AC/DC, and DC/DC)
- high voltage (up to 2 kV) energy systems including 40-200 kW power levels
- AC/DC and DC/AC power conversion topologies and technologies.
- renewable energy generation and connection to the grid
- data center power supply design
- battery energy storage systems and/or battery management systems
- Experience in electrical circuit design, cooling systems, and software algorithms and control.
- Familiarity with writing embedded software for electric energy systems such as Linux, RTOS or bare-metal, at the hardware abstraction level as well as embedded C or Linux level
- Experience in automotive systems or functional safety is desired.
- Proven experience in full system design with good knowledge of systems modelling and requirements capture, especially in the context of safety-relevant systems.
- Knowledge of certification requirements and procedures in relevant countries is desired
- Familiarity with tools like JAMA and Matlab.
