Role
Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Preventive Community Services Division, the Executive Director, Prevention of Family Violence and Abuse will provide strategic oversight to the provincial prevention plans and policies that address family violence, sexual violence, human trafficking and bullying. You will be accountable for policy and legislation development and refinement and associated government frameworks and action plans including implementation, monitoring and measurement. You will lead a dynamic team in performing varied and specialized work relating to legislation, policy development, research, training, grant management, public awareness, education, stakeholder consultation and related community initiatives. You will also provide recommendations and advice to senior leadership and working collaboratively across ministries. In addition, you will act as a liaison and provide secretariat support to the Family Violence and Death Review Committee. Stakeholder relationship building and strong communication skills will be critical in managing issues in a highly complex and visible environment. Your innovative leadership will support prevention plans policy and ensure the effective administration of grants and funds for sexual assault centers and women's shelter spaces.
Qualifications
Your background includes extensive related senior management experience in program design and delivery. Knowledge of social programs is an asset. As an influential leader you bring experience in generating creative solutions and demonstrate a strong results oriented background. Your exceptional communication, policy and legislation development, stakeholder relationship and leadership skills will contribute to your success in this role. Knowledge of prevention programs and an understanding of domestic violence and family dynamic issues would be an asset. A related degree is preferred.
Salary
$5,234.94 - $6,879.68 bi-weekly ($136,631 - $179,559 annually)
