Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Customs and Compliance, to oversee and manage Fortune Brand Innovations customs operations. This key role will be responsible for ensuring compliance with free trade agreements and cross-border regulations, managing enterprise relationships with expediters, and overseeing the HCS import/export processes, globally. The Senior Manager will work extensively with the ACE portals and government relations, leading a team focused on US operations with support of maquila operations, as needed. This opportunity will leverage experience in relevant technologies, including SAP, and will manage HTS classification, reconciliation, duty drawback processes, and collaborate with leadership to develop processes and strategies to continually evolve the function.
Position location: This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule based out of Deerfield, IL. Effective mid-2025, Fortune Brands will transition to a new world-class campus in Deerfield, bringing together associates from across our U.S. offices, brands, and functions. The campus will offer vibrant workspaces for collaboration, along with amenities for dining, onsite daycare, fitness and recreation.

Fortune Brands believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is Hiring Pay Range: $93,000 USD - $143,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based sales incentive plan.

- Conduct HTS classification and manage import/export processes.
- Handle reconciliation and duty drawback processes.
- Ensure compliance with USMCA and other free trade agreements.
- Utilize the ACE portal and reporting functions for customs operations.
- Collaborate with maquila operations as needed.
- Manage and lead a team, providing guidance and support.
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes.
- Travel as required to support business operations.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of industry experience in a process and/or people leadership position.
- Extensive knowledge of HTS classification, import/export processes, reconciliation, and duty drawback processes.
- Strong understanding of USMCA and other free trade agreements.
- Experience with Customs software programs - USMCA/GTM is a plus.
- Experience with US/Canada cross-border processes.
- Experience with the ACE portal and reporting functions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Ability to travel up to 20%
Preferred Qualifications: - Knowledge of maquila operations.
- Experience implementing customs software programs.
- Brokerage license is a plus but not required.
- 2+ years of experience directly managing people.
