Senior Associate - Strategic Planning & Analytics (12 month contract)
What you will do

In this vital role you will interact broadly across the functions/subfunctions within the Biologic Discovery and Immuno-Engineering Research teams and adjacent functions located at Amgen British Columbia to support the implementation of key business deliverables, research initiatives, and continuous improvement projects by providing project management assistance which may include facilitation, communication, and tactical/operational execution within project timelines. This role based in Burnaby, BC and will report to the Site Head of Amgen British Columbia.
Essential functions:
As a strategic problem solver, this individual must have strong project management skills/experience, the ability to identify needs, streamline processes, and meet deliverables. This role will help support and understand current operations and redefine processes into seamless and efficient workstreams.

The salary range for this position in Canada is $90,000 - $115,000 CAD.

- Support the function head in strategy development, goal setting, execution of organizational plans, creation of organizational communications, project management and implementation of functional projects
- Work with communications partners to create communications content on behalf of function (eg. developing internal blog posts and social media updates)
- Generate and provide reports, dashboards and presentations, including Operating/Business Reviews, All-Staff presentations, & reports on business performance
- Assist with functional budget and resource planning and tracking in alignment with the global budget process
- Oversee the validation and maintenance of functional resource algorithms and review of resource forecasting assessments
- Turn unstructured business issues/requests into appropriate action plans and projects that result in high quality, significant and impactful deliverables
- Drive the preparation and orchestrate functional leadership and staff meetings to achieve strategic objectives of the organization, including agenda preparation, presentation development and facilitating external speaker engagement.
- Represent the business strategy for the Function and partner with other functions such as Human Resources, Finance, Corporate Communications in support of the strategy and goals

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Fluency in English, both in written and oral communication
- Degree in business / life sciences and 2-3 years of work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated passion for exploring emerging digital technologies and trends, with a proactive approach to staying ahead in a rapidly evolving tech landscape.
- Hands-on experience with business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) to transform raw data into actionable insights.
- Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) and their applications, such as natural language processing, content generation, or customer interaction enhancement.
- Strong proficiency in data analytics, including data visualization, statistical analysis, and the ability to interpret complex datasets to drive business decisions.
- Collaboration platforms/tools such as Smartsheet, Miro and MS Teams
- Proven ability to experiment with and integrate cutting-edge tools and methodologies to solve real-world business challenges.
- Curious mindset with a track record of self-directed learning in areas like machine learning, AI, or advanced analytics.
