Position Overview
We are seeking a Director of Field Operations to oversee complex construction projects from inception to completion. In this role you will coordinate and oversee all construction personnel and activities between our office in Canton, MA and job sites in MA and CT. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in multi-family housing construction, including ground-up construction, occupied renovations, and/or reuse/preservation projects.

Position Overview
We are seeking a Director of Field Operations to oversee complex construction projects from inception to completion. In this role you will coordinate and oversee all construction personnel and activities between our office in Canton, MA and job sites in MA and CT. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in multi-family housing construction, including ground-up construction, occupied renovations, and/or reuse/preservation projects.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management Oversight:
- Monitor project progress against schedules and budgets on all active construction sites.
- Identify potential issues and proactively address them to avoid delays and cost overruns.
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure seamless execution of project plans.
Field Team Leadership:
- Lead and manage a team of field superintendents, foremen, and other construction personnel.
- Assign tasks, delegate responsibilities, and provide necessary training to field staff.
- Conduct performance reviews and address performance concerns.
Safety Compliance:
- Implement and enforce strict safety procedures across all construction sites.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and address safety hazards promptly
- Promote a culture of safety awareness among field personnel
Quality Control:
- Ensure adherence to project specifications and quality standards
- Conduct quality checks throughout the construction process
- Address quality issues promptly and effectively
Resource Management:
- Coordinate the allocation of equipment, materials, and labor to optimize project efficiency
- Manage subcontractor relationships and ensure timely delivery of work packages
Communication and Collaboration:
- Maintain open communication with project managers, clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders
- Conduct regular job site meetings to discuss project progress and address concerns
Operational Improvement:
- Analyze field operations data to identify areas for improvement
- Implement new processes and procedures to enhance productivity and cost-effectiveness
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience with construction field operations, ideally managing large-scale projects
- Experience with multi-family ground-up, occupied renovations, and/or reuse/preservation projects
- Proficiency in construction project management software and tools
