The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SmartBid for bid solicitation, PlanSwift for takeoffs, and Excel for scope sheets and data analysis, along with a strong understanding of pre-construction processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Bid Solicitation & Management: Utilize SmartBid to manage subcontractor outreach, send invitations to bid, track responses, and ensure all bid documents are organized and submitted on time.
- Quantity Takeoffs: Perform accurate material and quantity takeoffs using PlanSwift, interpreting construction drawings and specifications to support cost estimation.
- Scope Development: Prepare detailed scope sheets in Excel, outlining project requirements, materials, labor, and equipment needs based on project plans and specifications.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Leverage Excel to analyze takeoff data, compile cost summaries, and generate reports to support bid proposals and pre-construction planning.
- Collaboration: Work closely with estimators, project managers, and subcontractors to clarify project details, resolve discrepancies, and ensure alignment on scope and deliverables.
- Document Management: Maintain organized records of plans, RFIs, bid packages, and other pre-construction documentation for easy access and reference.
- Support Pre-Construction Process: Assist in attending job walks, generating RFIs, and contributing to the development of comprehensive bid proposals.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a pre-construction, estimating, or similar role within the construction industry.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SmartBid for bid solicitation and subcontractor management.
- Hands-on experience with PlanSwift for digital takeoffs and estimating.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for scope sheets, data analysis, and reporting (e.g., pivot tables, formulas, etc.).
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
