Novatech is seeking an experienced Planner to join our Planning and Development team. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about the opportunity to facilitate the growth and development of the City of Ottawa and eastern Ontario. What You'll Do
Assist with due diligence activities and project feasibility evaluations
Coordinate and review preliminary concept plans and development applications, including Official Plan and Zoning
By-Law amendments, as well as Committee of Adjustment, Plan of Subdivision, Site Plan Control and Plan of Condominium approvals
Coordinate, review and/or prepare supporting documents such as Planning Rationales
Liaise with clients, other consultants, municipalities and other associated agencies in the pursuit of approvals
Prepare for and participate in public meetings, hearings and events for development approval applications
Assist with negotiation of agreements and conditions (e.g., subdivision and site plan conditions/agreements, condominium registration, permits, etc.)
Prepare for and compile documentation for Ontario Land Tribunal hearings
Skills & Experience You'll Need
7+ years of planning experience, within the private sector and/or experience with a municipality
Ability to coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary work environment
Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Strong analytical and report writing skills
Strong critical thinking, time management and organization skills
Commitment to excellence and high-quality work with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
A valid Province of Ontario driver's license
Education and Accreditation Required
University degree in Urban and Regional Planning or equivalent
RPP designation or comparable equivalent
