Job Summary
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our Enterprise Data team to drive analytics and data initiatives. In this role, you'll spend approximately 75% of your time designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines and architecture and 25% analyzing data to deliver actionable insights that support decision-making across the organization. This position is ideal for a candidate with a strong foundation in data engineering who also enjoys diving into data analysis to uncover trends and insights.

Essential Functions

Data Engineering:
  • Data Pipeline Development: Design, develop and maintain scalable ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines to integrate, cleanse, and process data from various sources into our enterprise data warehouse.
  • Database Design: Assist in the design of effective data models to support analytics initiatives.
  • Data Infrastructure Management: Set up and manage databases, data lakes, and other data storage solutions to ensure efficient and secure data access.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Implement data validation and integrity checks within pipelines to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
  • Automation: Automate repetitive data workflows and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
  • Optimization: Monitor and optimize data processing performance and storage, identifying areas for improvement and reducing data processing time.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with customers from various business functions to understand data requirements and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Documentation: Document data engineering workflows, structures, and procedures to enable team-wide understanding and continuity.

Data Analysis:
  • Reporting and Visualization: Develop semantics layers within the reporting tools, as well as dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate findings and insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  • Data Exploration: Assist users in the analysis of data to identify patterns, trends, and insights that support business initiatives and inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaboration with Business Units: Work with business units to understand data needs and align analysis with organizational goals.


Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a technical field.

Experience:
  • 7+ years of data engineering experience, with data analysis exposure.

Technical Skills:
  • Data Engineering: Proficiency with SQL and data warehousing solutions.
  • Experience with the Microsoft Fabric platform and tools such as Data Factory is preferred or experience with other platforms and tools for storage and ETL (such as AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Snowflake, Informatica, Matillion, Talend).
  • Data Storage: Familiarity with databases and advanced SQL.
  • Data Analysis: Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Adaptability to work on both engineering and analytical tasks.
  • Excellent time management skills to balance engineering and analytical responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Experience in the Microsoft suite of data tools
  • Familiarity with machine learning workflows.
  • Previous experience in a similar hybrid role in a fast-paced environment.

  • $123,098 - $184,971
