Future Technologies Inc. (FTI) is in search of a Test Specialist to join our team in Dahlgren, VA.
The Test Specialist will support Vertical Launching System test and evaluation software activities software for existing systems, system upgrades, and peripherals.
Responsibilities
- Test and evaluation activities cover both hardware and software for new systems, system upgrades, and peripherals as well as system of systems
- The Candidate will provide engineering support required to review, assess and analyze all levels of system documentation to identify and define test requirements. Documentation to be reviewed includes requirements and design specifications, test plans and procedures, test results, logistics training documentation, and change proposals. The Candidate will perform requirements traceability and change impact assessments
- The Candidate will evaluate test coverage with respect to test type, test validity, test scenarios, test conduct, test results, and problem report content. The goal is to reduce the number of defects or problems reported at integrated combat systems test sites and aboard ships by continually improving software verification level test methods. The Candidate will make recommendations for improvements in accordance with Government processes
- The Candidate will plan, conduct, participate, and execute test and evaluation activities
- The Candidate will analyze test and evaluation data and provide an assessment of deficiencies uncovered during testing. The Candidate will conduct, participate, or provide witness in tactical system ship-based and land-based test and evaluation, certification, and training events to be held at Government or Non-Government venues
- The Candidate will provide recommendations for possible automated testing
- The Candidate, in cooperation with the Government Test Lead, will maintain a test activity schedule. This schedule will include all test events by test suite, off-site work or training events, and desktop task that test personnel support
- The Candidate will participate in system requirements familiarity and awareness sessions with system test personnel to ensure new system enhancements and capabilities are clearly understood and adequately tested
- 0-10% travel required
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in a STEM discipline or Three (3) years of experience in the areas of Combat System Testing, coordination, execution, and analysis in a Navy land-based test laboratory or field environment
- Past experience in software test and evaluation
- Past experience performing data analysis
- Ability to understand and develop test requirements and execute test procedures
- Ability to work in teams
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Knowledge and experience in testing Navy surface combat systems
- Past experience testing MK41 Vertical Launching System (VLS)
- Active Secret security clearance
