As a senior manager, North America Core Operations on the Starbucks Internal Audit team, you will be leading the execution of our mission to enable value creation, value preservation and brand growth through a risk-informed lens. This role is Seattle-based, and responsible for leading and managing execution of a risk-based audit plan covering financial, operational and strategic risks for assigned business units and advising management through key risk insights and control enhancements.

As a senior manager, you will...

Identify key portfolio risks
Craft objectives and scope for audit and advisory projects based on collaboration with business stakeholders and IA management
Stay abreast with knowledge of key risks, controls, and business processes in your assigned portfolio, and keep leaders and peers informed through participation in the enterprise risk management (ERM) process
Assigned portfolio may include: Sarbanes-Oxley assurance, Finance, Global Supply Chain, Store Operations, Partner Resources Organization (PRO, aka Human Resources), Law & Corporate Affairs, and Public Affairs. These may be occasionally alternated with other functions.

Manage execution and delivery of NA core operations audit and advisory projects
Manage IA resources, share knowledge and insights, and deliver high-impact audit reports with recommendations to reduce risk, enhance governance, and improve the control environment for assigned functional areas.
Maintain an internal quality assurance and improvement program to ensure compliance with The Institute of Internal Auditors' (IIA) international standards.
Drive continuous improvement of the audit craft. Seek ways to improve current IA practices, including tools methodologies, analytics, and process improvement to drive a best-in-class IA and risk management function.

Lead partner and team development and relationship building
Attract, develop, coach, and build high-performing teams and work across a matrixed organization
Maintain trusted advisor relationships, promoting collaboration, belonging, diversity, accountability, and joy with internal audit and stakeholder partners

We'd love to hear from people with:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related fields
More than 10 years of relevant experience in Public Accounting or Internal Auditing with a large multinational public company
Experience with managing Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) 302 and 404 programs and compliance assessments
Knowledge of financial processes and internal controls, global supply chain, retail store operations, and their financial implications
Exceptional people leadership skills with demonstrated ability to inspire and create a high performing team in a collaborative and complex environment
Strong strategic and critical thinking skills, with ability to communicate vision, and execute plans to meet business objectives
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively articulate risks, mitigation proposals and link common themes to stakeholders at various levels of the organization
Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset
Able to travel domestically and internationally periodically
Approved professional certification preferred, such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
Experience with AuditBoard and data analytics tools a plus

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
