Key Responsibilities
- Lead and drive New Product Development (NPD) initiatives within the Gas Processing, Carbon Capture, Hydrogen, and Adsorbents platforms. This encompasses the development of processes and new materials, aiming to provide comprehensive solutions to meet customer needs.
- Utilize and advocate best practices in project management to ensure that technology delivery commitments are fulfilled within established timelines and budgetary limits.
- Oversee and direct pilot plant experiments while employing a model-based design of experiments (MBDOE) methodology to expedite technology delivery and uncover avenues for innovation.
- Collaborate with business associates to foster effective technology development that supports both the maintenance of existing business lines and the execution of growth strategies.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing & Product Technology, Analytical, and Advanced Characterization teams to guarantee the timely and effective development of new products.
- Maintain awareness of competitive activities and monitor emerging developments, leading projects aimed at addressing gaps within pertinent technological domains.
- Support sales teams and associated organizations to ensure that technology offerings deliver maximum value to customers and optimize Honeywell's value capture.
- Provide assistance for critical customer engagement initiatives at the request of the business.
- Discover innovative solutions and draft invention disclosures to enhance Honeywell UOP's commitment to innovation.
- Serve as a mentor, both locally and globally, to less experienced scientists and engineers, fostering growth and knowledge sharing.
- B.S. degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
- 10 years of experience in Research & Development
- An advanced degree (MS or PhD) in chemical engineering or chemistry is required.
- A solid understanding of the fundamentals of chemistry and chemical engineering, with a focus on their application in the development of processes, catalysts, and/or adsorbent technologies.
- Proven experience in formulating and executing experimental plans, including the application of statistical tools for effective data analysis.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma principles and their implementation in risk management and uncertainty mitigation.
- Preference is given to candidates with Six Sigma green belt certification, while black belt certification is considered highly desirable.
- Strong business insight and an entrepreneurial mindset, particularly in the context of technology development within a dynamic environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities are essential.
- Capability to create and deliver impactful presentations, both internally and to external stakeholders, while effectively managing customer interactions.
- Skilled in building networks and establishing relationships.
- Willingness to work across diverse cultures and time zones.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally approximately 30% of the time.
