Froedtert is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Thoracic Transplant Manager to join our team! In this role, you will oversee the operations of our thoracic transplant program including Heart, VAD and Lung transplants, collaborating closely with physicians, surgeons, nurses, and transplant assistants. Your expertise and commitment will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of care for our patients.

Job Summary:

Responsible for providing leadership and direction to staff in thoracic transplant programs. Collaborates with medicine and surgery physicians in the oversight of transplant-specific multi-disciplinary team members providing care to transplant patients across the continuum. Manages the day-to-day operations of the transplant programs and ensures regulatory compliance at all times. May manage and/or provide oversight of other teams who share space in the transplant units as operations and needs of the transplant service line require.

Accountable for assessing, planning, implementing and managing processes and workflows that provide nursing and patient care to meet goals and accepted standards of practice and performance. Assists in planning for future program growth and the development of training and educational programs that will provide the transplant center staff with the knowledge and skills necessary to function in their roles and enhance patient outcomes. Contributes to service line initiatives as needed.

EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION:

Three years or more experience as a transplant nurse coordinator, nursing experience in thoracic transplant and VAD and knowledge of transplant and practice in meeting regulatory requirements, departmental policies and procedures and to fulfill established standards is required.

EDUCATION DESCRIPTION:

Bachelors Degree in Nursing is required. Master's (MPH, MBA, MSN) degree is preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION:

Interpersonal skills necessary to instruct and comfort patients and their families, and maintain effective contacts with a variety of hospital personnel. Analytical skills necessary to prepare dashboards, PowerPoint presentations, budget. Able to interpret quality and publicly reported data. Demonstrated leadership skills in previous roles. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail for up to eighty percent of work time when planning and performing professional nursing care, resolving patient care problems and dealing with patients and their families, often during stressful situations. Ability to walk and stand continuously (up to eighty percent of work time) and occasionally (up to ten percent of worktime) lift and position patients.

LICENSURE DESCRIPTION:

Current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact).
