Role Description:
Arcadis is seeking a National Practice Leader for Wastewater Planning to join the Resilience Water Business Area in the United States. Reporting to the Resilience Water Planning Practice Director, this full-time role can be based anywhere in the country.
Role Accountabilities:
As National Practice Leader, you will collaborate with leadership to drive profitable growth and to enhance delivery capabilities for Wastewater Planning projects while fostering collaboration across national and regional teams. You will lead efforts to develop innovative strategies, enhance service offerings, and ensure exceptional project delivery. Additionally, you will assess client needs, regulatory drivers, emerging issues, technology enhancements, and industry trends, and staff development. You will also be responsible for:
You will also be responsible for supporting the growth and development of Wastewater Planning staff through mentorship and professional guidance. Address talent gaps and contribute to hiring strategies, candidate evaluation, and team coordination to build a strong, capable workforce. Balance workload while identifying and capitalizing on growth opportunities to strengthen the team and drive success.
Travel (up to 25%) is anticipated regionally and nationally. Travel will be conducted for client and project meetings, engagement with staff, general planning purposes, and attendance at conferences and other industry-related events.
Success in this role will be measured by sustained, profitable growth, diversified services tailored to client needs, strengthening our position in existing markets, expanding into new markets, delivering exceptional client experiences, and fostering coordination, career growth, and operational excellence for our team.
Key Skills & Attributes:
To succeed in this role, you must have comprehensive knowledge of Wastewater Planning, including master and facility planning, treatment process modeling, liquid and solids treatment selection and optimization, wet weather treatment, resource recovery, and regulatory compliance. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, with the ability to articulate a client's Wastewater Planning perspective and thought leadership. You should be able to convey the strategic value of Wastewater Planning to client executives and stakeholders while implementing innovative initiatives to support their needs. Additionally, strong leadership and the ability to motivate through influence are key to driving successful outcomes.

- Strategic Leadership & Pursuits: Identify and lead major and strategic proposals, including those requiring Pursuit Committee approval.
- Practice Standards & Quality Control: Develop and enforce standards, processes, and quality assurance measures for Wastewater Planning projects.
- Project Oversight & Technical Expertise: Function as a Technical Advisor, Technical Director, or Quality Assurance Director on key projects.
- Thought Leadership & Industry Engagement: Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts, the Practice Director, and Growth teams to implement industry-leading strategies.
- Collaboration & Alignment: Work closely with Area Leads, Account Leads, Market Leads, Project Managers, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment of efforts.
- Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, strengthening relationships and delivering high-quality service.

Qualifications & Experience:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Planning, or a related field
- 12 years of experience in the wastewater industry
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a relevant field
- 15 years of wastewater experience, including 5 years leading projects and proposals in wastewater planning
- Professional certification (PE, Certified Wastewater Operator, or PMP)
- Serve or have served in leadership roles on key wastewater committees or organization
