Description:

You are an aspiring Project Manager with over 8 years of experience working in multi-disciplinary commercial construction projects. As an integral part of the project team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing project strategies in collaboration with the Senior Project Manager for an exciting design-build healthcare project. You will support the operations team in maintaining safety and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates leadership in health, safety, and environmental protection on the project
  • Applies the requirements of the Project Specific Safety Program (PSSP) to promote overall compliance with Ledcor HS&E standards, applicable OH&S Acts, regulations, and codes with all employees and subcontractors on the project
  • Creates and facilitates the Project Quality Program to ensure project materials are supplied and work is completed accordingly
  • Ensures that projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable building codes and that quality standards are maintained
  • Develop and maintain the construction schedule in conjunction with the project team to meet milestones and completion dates
  • Leads project meetings with internal and external stakeholders to monitor and support the project's ongoing progression
  • Provides strong leadership to construction team members, capitalizing on individual and group strengths to ensure project targets are achieved
  • Identifies and manages opportunities and risks to achieve the best possible impact on schedule and financial targets
  • Maintains, tracks, and reports all financial aspects of the project including forecasts and billings
  • Manages the procurement process including subcontractor/trade/supplier negotiations and awards


Qualifications
  • 8+ years of related work experience or combination of relevant education and experience
  • Experienced in managing full cycle new build construction; design-build and healthcare construction experience is preferred with strong knowledge in various scopes of work including walls, ceilings, DFH (doors frames hardware) and elevators
  • Completed post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering or related discipline an asset
  • Working knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications and current construction practices and methodology
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to address stakeholder needs
  • Capable of identifying issues and generating solutions in moderately complex situations
  • Strong computer skills with an aptitude for learning new programs; familiar with scheduling software


Work Conditions
  • Site based position in Vancouver, BC
  • Valid drivers license and clean abstract
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol test

Compensation

$93,600 - $128,700 Annually

This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
