Role Description
The Sr. Manager position will be part of the Corporate Strategy & Ventures (CS&V) team at FMC. The broader CS&V team is responsible for developing FMC's corporate strategic plan, driving pertinent strategic and commercial projects (on behalf of functions, regions and business units) and leading M&A and Corporate Venture Capital activities for the enterprise. This role will report into the Vice President of Corporate Strategy & Ventures. Over the years, the CS&V team has served as a pipeline for high potential talent into the rest of the FMC organization.

Role Description
The Sr. Manager position will be part of the Corporate Strategy & Ventures (CS&V) team at FMC. The broader CS&V team is responsible for developing FMC's corporate strategic plan, driving pertinent strategic and commercial projects (on behalf of functions, regions and business units) and leading M&A and Corporate Venture Capital activities for the enterprise. This role will report into the Vice President of Corporate Strategy & Ventures. Over the years, the CS&V team has served as a pipeline for high potential talent into the rest of the FMC organization.
Key Role Responsibilities
- Lead the development, coordination, and execution of strategic projects across the organization, including the long-range strategic plan, organic growth strategy, new market entry, technology commercialization, and mergers / acquisitions
- Craft and articulate the business case to inform investment on proposed initiatives
- Manage investments in and relationships with select FMC Ventures portfolio companies, including serving on the boards of the companies
- Conduct due diligence on start-ups seeking funding from FMC Ventures
- Partner with the businesses and functional leaders across the organization, including Precision Agriculture, Plant Health, Regulatory, R&D, Commercial, and Marketing to identify and set priorities associated with individual initiatives
- Work in close coordination with cross-functional teams comprised of global, regional, and functional stakeholders to successfully execute each project
- Prepare and present materials to C-suite and global operating committee members on key topics and provide updates on critical pieces of work
- Partner with other CS&V team members and contribute to the development of internal IP and best practices
Education
- Bachelor's degree required
- MBA or other advanced degree required
Experience:
- 7+ years of professional work experience in corporate strategy area or 3+ years from a recognized strategy consulting firm
- Experience in corporate and/or portfolio strategy and/or M&A
- Prior exposure to the chemicals industry, agriculture or manufacturing is preferred, but not mandatory
Functional / Technical Skills:
- Demonstrated expertise with the strategy toolkit
- Sound financial acumen
- Strong written and oral professional communication skills
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
Soft Skills:
- Ability to develop structure and customized frameworks while navigating ambiguity to solve complex challenges and problems within the organization
- Strong strategic thinking and familiarity with analytical tools with ability to use them to express ideas clearly, concisely, and logically
- High-horsepower individual, capable of working independently under pressure with limited supervision
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with demonstrated ability to multitask and establish priorities
- Solid quantitative skills in financial modelling, valuation, business case development, etc.
- Ability to challenge conventional thinking and bring forward innovative ideas and methods
- Has high ethical standards and possesses maturity to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Ability to work effectively in a heavily matrixed international organization and collaborate at all levels of the organization
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to earn trust and build credibility across organization
