Overview

The GVP, Media Strategy leads the media strategy discipline for a large financial services client here at Razorfish. This person manages a team including Directors and AMD's and is responsible for holistic media strategy with collaboration across Activation and Measurement. They share in the responsibility of providing account leadership in partnership with the key subject matter expert (Media, Search, Data, SEO) to drive media and marketing solutions for clients. This role is a hybrid of a client service and account management and works to bridge the strategic account relationship with the campaign strategy and execution being delivered by the team.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a senior lead on client's business and oversees all aspects of the assigned clients
  • Responsible for account oversight and developing, implementing and executing strategy to advance client's business
  • Brings thought-leadership and new perspective with deep understanding of omni-channel customer experience, audience centric planning and the ability to manage associated downstream, cross-channel campaign executions
  • Demonstrates success in building/leading a scaled brand and performance strategy, planning, and research capability in an agency environment with evidence of breakthrough innovation across these disciplines
  • Deep understanding of the research methodologies that underpin these insights and demonstrate success in motivating a team to uncover/expand upon them to help drive industry-leading innovation
  • Directs the long-range planning and development of campaigns to ensure best use of organizational resources
  • Act as a catalyst to spark curiosity and innovation within the team and across all lines of business in the client portfolio
  • Responsible for budgeting, controlling costs, planning and scheduling around cost concerns
  • Providing staffing recommendation and daily supervision to all accounts
  • Ensure connectivity with all relevant internal and external stakeholders in the US and globally (as necessary)
  • Drive best in class insight, data-informed strategy, and innovation
  • Participates in new business efforts including development of new business opportunities and new business pitches (as needed)


Qualifications

  • A. or B.S., preferably in Marketing, Advertising, or related field
  • 12+ years of media planning experience
  • 5+ years in a management capacity
  • Experience managing large media clients (account level spend of $500MM) with integrated, multi-media marketing campaigns, specifically strong National Video Upfront and scatter planning
  • Superior client service experience with proven ability to manage workflow of each media campaign
  • Strong grasp of the full media ecosystem with an expertise in traditional and video investment, offering an ability to influence transformational story for client's LOB(s)
  • Thinks clearly and diplomatically when participating in a discussion to field complex or sensitive questions from clients/internal groups
  • Excellent written/verbal communication, presentation, organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to define and implement professional standards for team participation, conflict resolution, problem solving, and communication
  • Establish and encourage ongoing cross-sharing of work and best practices across agency and client teams
  • Able to manage a budget, control costs, plan and schedule around cost concerns for business unit
  • Demonstrated ability to be curious and passionate about the client's business

Compensation Range: $176,700 - $288,765 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
