The Associate Director provides leadership and oversight for Fund Accounting teams, ensuring high-quality training, review, and development of junior professionals, including Managers and Senior Accountants. He or she has deep relationships with third party service providers, such as counterparties, custodians, and third-party administrators. Expected to be autonomous and independent with full ownership the monthly close process and all its related tasks.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Oversight of monthly and quarterly close process for all GEM portfolios, including review of junior accountant's assigned portfolios and controls processes
- Review generated monthly and quarterly deliverables for investors
- Oversight of accounting systems and key vendor relationships
- Oversight of portfolio activity and accounting, including monthly / quarterly NAV review, capital calls and distributions, fund expense allocations and portfolio rebalancing execution
- Audit requests
- Special projects, as needed
Qualifications
- 8+ years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with strong academic credentials and record of achievement
- Advanced Excel and other Microsoft Office skills
- Power user of team software and tools, including managing upgrades, updates, and/or enhancements
- Advanced knowledge of system interdependencies
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, and performance measurement principles
- Proven ability to produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
Working Conditions
- Position type - Full-time
- Work schedule - Minimum 40 hours / week
- Work location - Hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote) subject to manager discretion
- Work environment - Office
- Essential physical requirements - Ability to sit and work on a computer for an extended period
- Travel requirements - None
