Senior Public Relations Specialist

Emerson T&M is seeking a Senior PR & Communications Specialist to lead strategic external communications initiatives that go beyond traditional public relations! This individual will play a key role in crafting the organization's narrative, improving brand reputation, and driving coordinated communication efforts across multiple channels. The ideal candidate is a skilled communicator with a strategic mentality and a strong track record in media relations, thought leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Media & Analyst Relations: Establish and maintain positive relationships with key journalists, media outlets, analysts, and industry influencers to secure impactful coverage aligned with organizational goals.
  • Strategic Narrative Development: Craft and refine compelling narratives that support brand positioning ad communicate sophisticated business priorities clearly and effectively.
  • Executive Communications: Partner with senior leaders to elevate executive visibility through thought leadership opportunities, speaking engagements, authored content, and social media positioning.
  • Integrated Communications Planning: Collaborate closely with teams across marketing, product, HR, and corporate affairs to ensure consistency and alignment of messaging across all channels.
  • Content Development: Author and edit a range of communications materials, including press releases, media statements, messaging documents, executive talking points, blog posts, and internal announcements.
  • Issues & Reputation Management: Support crisis and issues communication efforts with strategic counsel and appropriate messaging to mitigate risk and protect the company's reputation.
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor, measure, and report on media coverage and communication campaign efficiency, using insights to optimize future initiatives.


Qualifications
  • 5-8 years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, or a related field, preferably within a complex or matrixed organization
  • Proven success in securing high-quality media coverage and building strong relationships with external customers
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into accessible, engaging content
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and influence customers at all levels of the organization
  • Strong judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in B2B technology, professional services, or highly regulated industries
  • Familiarity with communications and media monitoring tools such as Cision, Meltwater, or equivalent
  • Background in brand storytelling, content marketing, or strategic communications planning
  • Ability to develop Exec quarterly readouts and show impact to the business
