Job Title: AVP, Strategic Account Management

Job Description:

The AVP of Strategic Account Management will be responsible for cultivating and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders in global accounts, ensuring client satisfaction, and driving revenue growth. As a trusted advisor, you will help clients navigate complex challenges through tailored solutions and identify new business opportunities to maximize profitability.

This role involves close collaboration with various internal teams-including Enterprise and Technology, Service Delivery, and Commercial teams-to understand client needs, optimize service delivery, and foster innovation. You will lead a team of Account Managers to ensure successful client engagement, drive long-term partnerships, and align with organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for global accounts, strengthening relationships with key stakeholders, including client sponsors, procurement directors, and C-level executives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as Finance & Accounting (F&A), Customer Experience, Digital, and Data Analytics, to deliver customized solutions that meet clients' needs and expectations.
  • Identify new business opportunities and leverage market intelligence to drive growth within existing and prospective accounts.
  • Define target markets and buyer personas, develop an effective sales playbook, coordinate with the marketing team to devise promotional strategies, and work with business development and practice teams to bring the best solutions to prospects.
  • Develop and execute account plans in partnership with internal teams, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Lead contract negotiations to secure favorable terms that align with the organization's commercial goals.
  • Provide strategic leadership to a team of Account Managers, ensuring high performance and alignment with sales objectives and revenue targets.
  • Participate in business reviews, monthly demand meetings, and strategic client pursuits, offering insights and expertise to senior stakeholders.
  • Drive revenue growth by capitalizing on sales opportunities while focusing on client retention and satisfaction.
  • Resolve escalated client issues in a timely manner, acting as a primary problem solver for clients.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Enablement teams to maximize the impact of sales strategies and continuously innovate client offerings.
  • Regularly report to senior leadership on account performance, strategic initiatives, and progress toward key goals.

What We Are Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree required; an advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is preferred.
  • At least 9 years of experience in global account management, business development, or strategic sales, ideally in industries such as Business and Professional Services, Technology, Manufacturing, Travel, Transportation, and Logistics.
  • Proven track record in managing and growing strategic global accounts, including experience working with C-level executives and senior leadership.
  • Strong understanding of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscapes.
  • Exceptional relationship management, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Proven leadership abilities, with the capacity to inspire, motivate, and develop team members.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with diverse teams (e.g., Design, R&D, Marketing) to achieve client objectives.
  • Excellent problem-solving, change management, and escalation resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in analyzing complex financial data to drive business performance and decision-making.
  • Highly adaptable, with strong emotional intelligence and a customer-centric approach.


Travel & Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to travel up to 50% globally for client meetings, industry events, and strategic initiatives.
  • Full-time onsite role with potential hybrid work arrangements, depending on client needs and business objectives.

The base salary range listed is just one component of EXL's total compensation package for employees.
