Position Description:
The Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Software Architect will support the Army Program Executive Office Missiles and Space (PEO MS) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Mission Command Product Office's Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) Futures Capabilities (IFC) product cell. This role is a key contributor on the forward edge of new concepts and Systems of Systems, shaping next-generation air and missile defense capabilities.

Position Description:
The Air and Missile Defense (AMD) Software Architect will support the Army Program Executive Office Missiles and Space (PEO MS) Integrated Fires Mission Command (IFMC) Mission Command Product Office's Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) Futures Capabilities (IFC) product cell. This role is a key contributor on the forward edge of new concepts and Systems of Systems, shaping next-generation air and missile defense capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate software development efforts within a large-scale software environment
- Provide architectural direction for new software interface integrations and prototyping
- Investigate, assess, and present technology solutions to enhance system performance
- Support agile-based development processes and collaborate with stakeholders to assess user needs
- Identify capability gaps, improvement opportunities, and deliver clear, actionable tasking
- Coordinate with product and solution management to align technical needs and priorities
- Support integration, problem resolution, and testing of real-time mission software systems
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) from an accredited college in engineering, science, or mathematics (ABET preferred)
- Minimum of 7 years combined Government/DoD experience related to software architecture and development
- Experience with real-time systems and diverse software development efforts
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
- Experience leading software teams and managing complex system integration
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- US Citizenship is required
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
Additional Desired Experience:
- Familiarity with IBCS, PATRIOT, MEADS, THAAD, C2BMC, or AEGIS systems
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, DevSecOps, SAFe agile frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines
- Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience
- Previous software architecture or engineering leadership experience
- Strong decision-making ability, critical thinking, and a collaborative team attitude
