What we need:

The Director Sustainability is a high-level leader that oversees our sustainability initiatives and drives continuous improvement with a focus on sustainability. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing Sustainability strategies, policies, and programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote sustainability goals.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Sustainability strategy aligned with the company's values, goals, and industry best practices.
  • Identify key sustainability priorities and goals, including carbon footprint reduction, waste minimization, renewable energy adoption, and social impact initiatives.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to integrate sustainability into business planning, decision-making, and performance metrics.
  • Lead efforts to minimize the company's environmental footprint through energy efficiency improvements, resource conservation, and waste reduction initiatives.
  • Implement sustainable practices across operations, including manufacturing processes, packaging design, and facilities management.
  • Monitor and report on environmental performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track progress towards sustainability goals and targets.
  • Develop comprehensive sustainability reports and communications to stakeholders, including annual sustainability reports, investor disclosures, and public-facing communications.
  • Ensure accurate and transparent reporting on sustainability performance, achievements, and challenges.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, regulations, and best practices in sustainability and corporate responsibility.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in sustainability practices, technologies, and initiatives.
  • Serve as a thought leader and advocate for Sustainability both internally and externally, representing the company in industry forums, conferences, and working groups.
  • Perform other duties as needed.


What you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years' relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of management experience.

  • High degree of professionalism, judgment, maturity, and resourcefulness in the absence of formalized guidelines and procedures.


What else?

  • This employee will be responsible for direct reports.
  • Occasional exposure to hazardous conditions caused by noise, moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and other conditions associated with a high-traffic production floor.
  • Must be able to walk long distances and stand for long periods of time.
  • Bending, crouching, and stooping may be required.
  • Must be able to work in non-climate-controlled facilities.
  • The work environment may be a noisy, high traffic manufacturing production floor.
  • May be required to work a flexible schedule to include evening and night shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day.
  • The ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
