JOB DESCRIPTION:
Seattle City Light, a department of the City of Seattle, is one of the nation's largest municipally owned utilities in terms of the number of customers served. Over the years we have worked very hard to keep Seattle's electricity affordable, reliable, and environmentally sound. Today, City Light is a recognized national leader in energy efficiency and environmental stewardship.
This position will work as part of the Metering Operations team. The incumbent will use to employee/customer reported field reports, law enforcement requests, and data to investigate, recover, and make safe any electrical meters that are altered resulting in diverted/unmetered electrical services as per DPP III-416 and RCW 9A.48.070 and RCW 9A.48.080. This position will use data to address lost revenue, identify AMI infrastructure needs, process service requests and manage accounts. The MSA Supervisor will lead a small team of Senior Management System Analysts and Accounting Technicians.
This position will report to the TMO Manager.

Requires five years of system, procedures, research or analysis and a Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, finance, computer science or a related field (or a combination of education, training, experience that provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class).

- Supervises the work of subordinate staff assigned to system design, analysis, development and implementation projects.
- Evaluates, monitors and reviews project progress; resolves and handles related personnel actions for assigned reports.
- Represents the department on various committees or related task forces.
- Plans, coordinates and implements system design and implementation projects.
- Investigates, negotiates and communicates with departmental staff to resolve project issues and/or problems and to define roles and responsibilities for projects crossing department/division lines.
- Prepares and presents research findings and recommendations concerning operational and management problems or needs involving system analysis, design, or development issues.
- Develops work plans and unit budgets; monitors expenditures; approves budget allocations for a unit.

- Experience with electric utilities or city government.
- Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to train and work with a variety of MSA's and Accounting Technicians on projects with large scope and visibility.
- Experience in the utilization of data to create strategy and advanced knowledge of AMI systems.
- Ability to solve problems and create self-motivated solutions
- Familiar with all applicable electrical service codes as related to the role.
- Use reporting to make decisions and recommendations regarding meter operations.
