Project Manager/Classification Specialist
Position: ProjectManagerV:
Lead the creation of a new website featuring tools, resources, instructions, and other information for jobseekers who have been recently impacted by the workforce changes. Collaborate with Chief Information Officer and Deputy Director, IT personnel, and representatives from the Executive Office of the Mayor to ensure deliverables and timelines are met.
Collaborate with Associate Director for Recruitment on two upcoming hiring events to be held in March and May. Create a task plan template for each event (to be used for future events) and schedule ongoing meetings designed to keepprojectteam on schedule. Attend coordination meetings and serve as the representative for logistics, facilities, and procurement, reporting those needs back to the Chief Administrative Office for delegation to the respective employee.
Convene the planning committee responsible for the Career Conversations initiative, a partnership with DC Public Library and non-profit organizations to inform jobseekers on the DC Government Hiring Process. Create theprojectplan for the initiative and schedule ongoing meetings designed to keep committee members on target with desired goals and outcomes.
Classification experience is a must.
Qualifications
Classification experience is a must.
Responsible for the coordination and completion of projects. Sets deadlines, assigns responsibilities, and monitors and summarizes progress of project. Prepares reports for upper management regarding status of project. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Leads and directs the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.
Persons in this job category shall hold a bachelor's degree and at least four (4) years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of academic and relevant experience may be considered
