Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Seven (7) years of proven experience in human resources management within a higher education or large, complex organization.
Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws, labor relations, and compliance.
Demonstrated ability to manage diverse HR function.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience working within a multi-campus university setting or in educational institutions.
Knowledge of K-12 school systems and unique HR considerations for educational staff.
HR certification (SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent) is a plus.

Leadership & Strategy:
- Lead and direct the HR function for the Baton Rouge Landmass, ensuring alignment with each institution's goals and values. Provide guidance on strategic HR issues and best practices to campus leaders and department heads.
- Promotes a positive image of the University by participating in community organizations, as well as national, state and local professional associations.
- Ensures that applicants, employees, vendors, and University administrators receive excellent customer service in all interactions with the Office of Human Resources.

Policy & Compliance:
- Develop, implement, and monitor HR policies and procedures across all campuses and the SU Laboratory School to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as System and University policies.
- Regularly review and update HR practices to ensure legal compliance and best practices.
- Ensures consistent and equitable application of human resource policies, procedures, and government regulations throughout the University by advising senior administrators about the applicable policies, procedures, and regulations, providing training for supervisors, and enforcing the personnel policies and procedures of the University.
- Remains competent and current on best Human Resources practices through self-directed professional reading, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development courses, and attending related training opportunities.
Talent Acquisition & Retention:
- Oversee recruitment and staffing processes across all divisions, ensuring effective sourcing, interviewing, and hiring practices. Work with hiring managers to build strong, high-performing teams. Develop strategies for employee retention and engagement.
Employee Relations:
- Address and resolve employee concerns and conflicts, providing guidance and mediation where necessary. Foster a positive and inclusive work culture by supporting staff through communication, training, and development opportunities.
- Advises employees and supervisors regarding performance and disciplinary issues, administers progressive discipline and grievance procedures consistently, listens to employee and supervisor concerns, conducts investigations as needed, and recommends a plan of action.

- Oversees and manages all aspects of the compensation and benefits programs, including designing strategies, setting pay structures, ensuring market competitiveness, administering benefits plans, and advising senior management on employee compensation matters to attract and retain talent.
