The Avatar Character Platform team is responsible for delivering high quality, socially present avatars built with world class tools, running on the best character system in the market with an iconic style.

Software Engineering Manager - Real-Time Avatars Responsibilities
- Lead a team of specialist engineers ranging in experts on realtime animation, rendering, and MR embodiment.
- Innovate on our Avatar systems for more flexibility and support a larger variety of use-cases and environments.
- Drive technologies from research to product that make Avatars more expressive, better looking, and enable salient connections in social experiences.
- Lead teams that deliver on multiple projects with complex dependencies in an ambiguous, high-impact area.
- Work with your team and cross functional partners to define and influence strategy and drive roadmap creation, goal-setting and execution.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with game engines (Unity, Unreal, etc) and the game development process.
- Experience developing, debugging, and shipping live software that spans multiple platforms.
- 5+ years of software engineering work experience including hands-on technical management.
- 2+ years of technical people management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with character animation, rendering, avatar systems, and human representation.
- Experience with Machine Learning, Large Language Models, or Generative AI techniques.
- Experience with API design and implementation for realtime 3D applications.
- Experience with Augmented Reality / Virtual Reality products.
