Yee Hong is one of the foremost providers of culturally appropriate senior care in the country, delivering high-quality resident experience and care to Chinese and other Asian seniors since 1994. The organization operates 805 long-term care beds and 308 seniors' apartment units, with an additional 224 long-term care beds opening in a new home by June 2026. In addition, Yee Hong offers four campuses of managed care, a hospice residence, and a wide range of community-based senior and caregiver support services. Through this comprehensive network, the organization serves more than 15,000 individuals annually across the Greater Toronto Area.

This leadership role will focus on creating accountability, implementing standardized practices, consolidating operations, and ensuring financial discipline to achieve operational efficiencies, enhance care delivery, and support the organization's growth and sustainability.

The ideal candidate will be a registered nurse (RN) with an MBA or similar advanced business qualifications, possessing a strong understanding of healthcare operations, financial management, and regulatory requirements in the long-term care and home and community sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational Leadership and Accountability:
  • Provide strategic oversight for operations of five LTC homes and the home and community programs division.
  • Establish clear accountability for operational outcomes, ensuring that each site is aligned with corporate goals and objectives.
  • Lead and mentor a team of operational managers to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery across all locations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability by setting clear performance expectations and regularly reviewing performance against targets.


2. Standardization and Process Improvement:
  • Develop and implement standardized operational processes and best practices across all LTC homes and home and community programs.
  • Lead efforts to standardize clinical care protocols, operational workflows, and administrative processes to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency.
  • Work closely with clinical teams to ensure that patient care and operational procedures meet or exceed regulatory and quality standards.


3. Consolidation and Integration of Operations:
  • Drive operational consolidation initiatives aimed at optimizing resource allocation, reducing redundancies, and improving cost efficiencies.
  • Lead integration efforts for new acquisitions, facilities, or services, ensuring alignment with organizational strategies and operational standards.
  • Identify opportunities for shared services (e.g., HR, procurement, IT) across locations to streamline operations and reduce costs.


4. Financial Discipline and Budget Management:
  • Take full responsibility for the operational budget, ensuring effective financial management and cost control across all facilities and programs.
  • Work closely with the finance team to develop and manage annual budgets, monitor expenses, and identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising care quality.
  • Ensure financial targets and cost-efficiency metrics are met, with a focus on sustainable financial practices.


5. Quality and Compliance:
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, including provincial and federal standards, accreditation requirements, and licensing mandates.
  • Promote and ensure high-quality care standards, working with clinical teams to implement evidence-based practices and continuous quality improvement.
  • Lead initiatives to improve resident outcomes and ensure that care services meet the highest clinical and ethical standards.


6. Strategic Planning and Growth:
  • Work with the senior leadership team to set long-term operational strategies, including expansion, facility upgrades, and service diversification.
  • Support the CEO and other executives in developing and executing strategic growth initiatives, including entering new markets or expanding service offerings.
  • Provide leadership in developing and implementing new operational initiatives to enhance organizational performance and financial sustainability.


7. Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management:
  • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders, including residents, families, staff, regulatory bodies, community organizations, and business partners.
  • Engage with local health authorities and external partners to ensure alignment with community needs and service expectations.
  • Act as the public-facing representative for operational matters, advocating for the organization and its residents.


Qualifications:

Education:
  • Registered Nurse (RN)
  • MBA or similar advanced business or healthcare management qualification.


Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of senior management experience, with at least 5 years in an executive operational leadership role within long-term care, home care, or healthcare services.
  • Proven track record of leading large, complex organizations or multiple sites, with experience in standardization, consolidation, and financial management.
  • Experience in managing home and community programs, understanding of community care systems, and a strong grasp of regulatory environments in healthcare.

  • Solid understanding of healthcare finance, budgeting, and cost management.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation processes, and industry best practices.

  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment.
