Highbridge Capital Management is seeking an Associate focused on fundamental research reporting to Highbridge's US Head of Performing Credit. This team is responsible for the underwriting of Highbridge's credit and volatility investments and the negotiation and structuring of its event driven, new money and special situations investments as well as their work outs, restructurings and corporate actions. The role will focus on investments that are capitalized by, but not limited to, Highbridge's flagship credit and volatility fund, the Highbridge Tactical Credit Fund ("HTCF"), as well as those that are intended to be capitalized by Highbridge's closed-end opportunistic investment vehicles.

Job Responsibilities

The Associate will play an important role in the underwriting process, collaborating with various members of the investment team. Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:
  • Underwrite credit, volatility, and relative value investments while providing daily oversight of existing exposures
  • Develop proprietary models to assess the creditworthiness of an issuer
  • Conduct thorough primary research, including expert due diligence calls and discussions with management.
  • Perform quantitative analyses focusing on the microeconomics of a businesses, recovery assessment, and valuation work
  • Collaborate with the trading desk to support daily investment decisions
  • Condense and synthesize analysis into concise memos that articulate the risk/reward proposition for Portfolio Manager review
  • Monitor daily news flow and maintain contact with Management teams for current and prospective investments
  • Assess potential deal dynamics and underwrite financing opportunities
  • Lead industry expert due diligence calls

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:
  • Experience: 2-5 years in investment banking, advisory, or buyside credit /special situation investing
  • Education: A degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or a related quantitative field
  • Strong Intellectual Capacity: Must possess a comprehensive understanding of trading, investing, and capital markets as well as corporate accounting and finance
  • Financial Acumen: Debt documentation review (indentures, credit agreements) with a focus on covenant review, instrument mechanics and financing capacity
  • Proficiency in Enterprise Valuations: using DCF, M&A frameworks and comparable analyses
  • Outstanding Quantitative and Analytical Abilities: Demonstrated proficiency in quantitative analysis and problem-solving
  • Meticulous Attention to Detail: A commitment to precision and adherence to disciplined processes is essential
  • Effective Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborative and Adaptable Team Player: Excels in a dynamic, global team environment and embraces collaboration
