Brief Description

Nokia is searching for an individual to work as a Development Prototype Line Engineer within the Optical Modules Group (OMG) on planning and supply of development prototype Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs).

Job Title: Development Prototype Line Engineer (Photonic Integrated Circuits)

Nokia is looking for a highly skilled and innovative Development Prototype Line Engineer specializing in Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing material through the prototype production line to successfully supply PICs according to a demand plan. This role requires close collaboration with Development Engineers who review data and select prototype parts for end-users. A strong technical background in photonic device fabrication, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams are essential. This position is in Sunnyvale, CA.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and manage prototype lines for Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) to ensure efficient and accurate prototype creation.
  • Develop, maintain and execute material supply-demand plan
  • Manage material flow through the wafer fabrication, assembly, and test steps to meet demand plans and supply PICs successfully.
  • Prepare and maintain weekly summary report for management and keep detailed documentation of PIC material status.
  • Manage resource constraints and allocate based on program plan.
  • Collaborate with Development Engineers to review data and select prototype parts for end-users.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of prototype equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Analyze prototype data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with requirements and safety regulations.
  • Train and mentor production staff on new PIC designs and process requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Photonics, or related field).
  • Proven experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or prototype development environment, specifically with Photonic Integrated Circuits.
  • Strong data analysis and program management skills.
  • Strong knowledge in one or more of following photonic device production - design, fabrication or test.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Ability to develop custom software tool.
  • Expertise in failure analysis of III-V photonic devices.
  • Experience in testing devices using LabView.
  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
