Job Description Summary

Responsible for the successful management of the Engineering & Maintenance departments including capital projects, continuous improvement analysis, implementation of improvements within project parameters, effective collaboration with other functions to achieve overall business results and development of direct reports

Job Description
  • Execute plant-specific vision and mission to assure continuous improvement and alignment with corporate vision.
  • Ensure that all manufacturing/facility systems are properly resourced and that all resources are efficiently utilized.
  • Direct assigned supervisors and hourly maintenance associates in their roles and responsibilities to meet plant objectives in safety, quality, cost, and customer service.
  • Provide technical support for efficient troubleshooting/problem solving activities and maintenance repair to maximize efficiencies and limit downtime.
  • Continuously apply sound engineering solutions to resolve hindrances to plant efficiencies and to drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide support in implementing/maintaining preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Manage engineering department costs within budgetary guidelines.
  • Manage the buildings and grounds such that good manufacturing practices (GMP) are adhered to.
  • Perform follow-up analysis to identify and resolve recurring operational issues.
  • Schedule mandatory inspections and coordinate certifications with appropriate authorities.
  • Ensure environmental compliance.
  • Drive employee engagement, training, and development to maximize manufacturing, quality, safety, and productivity goal attainment.
  • Effectively communicate results and action plans to appropriate employees and managers.
  • Collaborate directly with human resources to ensure employee issues or concerns are correctly addressed and resolved.
  • Collaborate with finance to create and execute a maintenance and capital budget to ensure that financial allocations and obligations are set, administered and met.
  • Implementation of the capital program.
  • Initiate cost savings measures.
  • Develop and manage long term (3-year) and short term (current FY) term capital plan.
  • Ensure all plant engineering operations are conducted in a safe and controlled environment.
  • Ensure all quality and regulatory standards, specifications and policies are met or exceeded.


Basic & Preferred Qualifications
  • 7-10 Years engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 3-5 Years Supervisory/Project Management experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • Strong computer application skills, including the utilization of network and PC business application software, CAD
  • Strong mathematical and statistical skills
  • Basic financial skills and understanding

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range posted based on various factors, including, but not limited to, job duties, experience and expertise. A candidate's work location could also impact the actual compensation being outside of the range to reflect local cost of labor. A reasonable annual estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $123,900.00 - $185,830.00
