Purpose:

Responsible for the development and execution of market access marketing tactical plans as well as budget management. Must have the ability to integrate data/information from brand team, medical, Market Access leadership, and primary and secondary market research to develop marketing materials, messaging, and programs. Must have a strong understanding of the various external market access customers and marketing/distribution channels.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross functional market access partners to drive payer strategy and development of market access marketing materials tactics, collaborating closely with cross-functional team which includes the brand team, Payer, Patient Access, GPO teams, ARMS, sales and MAx field leadership, CL D, legal, regulatory, Insights Analytics, contracting, and medical.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Market Access field teams [and Co-Promote marketing] partners to ensure alignment on the development and implementation of tactical programs for the various MAx account teams and sales teams.
  • Strong Collaboration with MAx Insights and Analytics colleagues to align research efforts that will inform MAx tactical execution
  • Lead payer Marketing Tactical Execution and Budget
  • Lead the planning, development and training/roll-out of Value Prop, actuarial model, trade materials, payer/market access oriented RWE/PRO materials, guidelines/pathways educational materials, Access and Affordability (eg OOP) materials, payer access pull through materials (including for Commercial, Medicare, VA, and others), EHR order set materials, and other field resources to Astellas field teams working closely with HEOR and medical,
  • Strategize, manage, and lead the content strategy to create relevant and purposeful market access messaging
  • Leverage market and customer insights to shape market access strategies
  • Work with cross functional teams on Medical Policy response strategy and tactics to help patients and providers can navigate access barriers
  • Collaborated with commercial learning and development teams to train payer and field teams on access resources
  • Responsible for managing budget, coordinating with the market access teams as needed, to ensure alignment of tactics and budget with brand plan. Prioritize and adjust as needed in accordance with customer and internal needs and provide 2-way communication with internal stakeholders.

Organizational Context:

The Market Access Assistant Director is a key role in the Market Access Marketing continuum that directly engages in and has responsibility for developing growth and LOE strategic plans as well as developing access specific tactics to align with strategy. This individual will report to the Lead, Retina Marketing. This position requires the individual to develop strong partnerships with stakeholders, including Market Access, Brand Marketing, and the sales organization, as well as medical, HEOR, and insights and analytics, legal, regulatory, and compliance to name a few. The role requires the individual to have consistent, clear, concise, and pro-active communication to ensure the sharing of ideas with the goal of gaining alignment on the development of creative strategies and corresponding resources in support of the respective brand plans.

Requirements

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 6 plus years of related, relevant experience (i.e., market/patient access, sales, sales training, market research, marketing operations, etc.).
  • Four-year college degree in related field
  • At least 6 years of related, relevant market access/marketing experience (i.e., , account management, etc.) in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry
  • Demonstrated understanding of managed markets, payer dynamics and the US healthcare system. Part B and Buy and Bill experience a plus.
  • Demonstrated matrix management skills
  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills
  • Strong track record in managing project teams
  • Ability to manage expense budgets to optimize returns
  • Strong oral and written, communication skills, including in hybrid environment
  • Understanding of the pharmaceutical regulatory environment with regards to the retail channel
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects in line with Astellas organizational needs
  • Entrepreneurial in nature
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficient in power-point / excel / MS Teams or other collaboration platforms
  • Willingness to travel (~20%)


Preferred:

  • Advanced Degree/Education in a related discipline
  • Expert knowledge in the disease state or product category to which assigned
  • Minimum of 4 years of marketing experience
  • Market Access strategy and marketing experience.

Compensation Range:$157,000 - $210,000 (NOTE: Final Salary could be more or less, based on experience.)
