Job Summary

The Magnet Schools Assistance Program Curriculum Coordinator is responsible for working with school teams to facilitate thematic curriculum development and implementation in each magnet program and ensure that all magnet curricula are fully aligned with TN State Standards.

What you will do
  • Collaborate with the magnet schools' curriculum and PD teams on the development and alignment of new magnet theme curricula and train staff in their use
  • Serve as a liaison with outside consultants providing on-site training for school staff
  • Create and maintain partnerships with community agencies participating in the project and offering services to families
  • Schedule, develop, and participate in PD activities in collaboration with the school based magnet curriculum specialist
  • Ensure all requirements specified by the federal grant priorities are effectively monitored and accomplished utilizing consistent use of discretion and judgment in its performance. Maintain accurate records of attendance for project events and participant progress. Develop and prepare interim and end of year reports in collaboration with the independent evaluator and Director.

Additional Requirements
  • Due to programming needs at specific locations, bilingual fluency in both Spanish and English may be required.
Education Qualifications
  • Master's Degree Preferred
Experience Qualifications
  • 5 or more years teaching and curriculum development experience Required
Skills and Abilities
  • Evidence of effective leadership skills
  • Excellent human relations skills; relates positively with parents, teachers, administrators and other central office personnel
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; possesses excellent public speaking abilities
  • Professional executive presence
  • Multi-cultural awareness and understanding
  • Familiarity with data and data-driven planning and decision making
Licenses and Certifications
  • TN Teacher Certification and current TN Administrative license Required
Equivalency
Starting At: $106,471.27

Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline.
