Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers. The company's R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. As a new member of the Revolution Medicines team, you will join other outstanding scientists in a tireless commitment to patients with cancers harboring mutations in the RAS signaling pathway.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking a leader with a strong track record in sample management processes and associated work flows to join our growing team. The role encompasses compound, protein, cell tissue sample management, automation, and lab operations. The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional leaders and teams to help design and maintain a discovery sample management platform that enables future growth andwill be accountable for leading this cross-functional sample management, automation, and lab management teams.

As a key member of the Discovery Chemistry Team, you will:
  • Lead all sample management and Chemistry Lab operation functions including compound registration, inventory, storage, sample tracking, distribution, and communication with collaborators
  • Work to integrate sample management across the Research organization, establish strategies and ensure state of the art facilities that enable growth and expansion of all sample management operations (e.g. compound, protein, cell tissue sample management)
  • In close collaboration with Information Sciences, Medicinal Chemistry, Discovery Sciences, Biology, and Pharmacology functions, evaluate current workflows and facilities, propose and implement improvements to enable future growth and expansion.
  • Oversee continuous optimization of compound and sample management workflows and expanding HTS screening support in future
  • Work with external partners to optimize sample archive and storage, distribution, and inventory management with a view to data safety and company growth.
  • Create and maintain SOP's for critical processes.
  • Maintain effective oral and written communication to research team members and provide support to ensure timelines are me.

Required Skills, Experience and Education:
  • BS/MS or equivalent degree in chemical, biological, engineering sciences or related field with 10+ years working full time in an industrial laboratory setting.
  • Expertise in modern sample management and modern data systems
  • Familiarity with diverse sample types, including small molecules, proteins, plasmids, and cells
  • Proven track record of people leadership across multi-disciplinary drug discovery teams
  • Innovative team-player with high energy for our fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and achieve research goals as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work with interdepartmental teams.

Preferred Skills:
  • Successful coaching, mentorship and development of both individuals and teams in order to build long-term organizational capability

The base salary range for this full-time position is $236,000 to $295,000 for candidates working onsite at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA. The range displayed on each job posting is intended to be the salary for an individual working onsite in Redwood City and will be adjusted for the local market a candidate is based in. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, market dynamics, and relevant education or training.
