Job Description
The Division of Technology Services (DTS) is looking for a highly motivated, energetic, self-starter to be an Enterprise Integration Specialist. This position will focus on delivering value to our partners statewide through close collaboration with DTS and agency stakeholders. The incumbent will help the integration team maintain enterprise API management and integration platforms as well as support a center of excellence for the usage of these platforms. This position will help agencies adopt the platforms.
This position is currently a hybrid of both in-office (2 days a week in office required) and telework days. The office is located at the Utah Department of Government Operations, Division of Technology Services (DTS); 4315 South 2700 West, Taylorsville, UT 84129. The Integration Center of Excellence responsibilities include:
- Governing catalogs of internal and external APIs
- Gathering feedback from stakeholders on integration needs
- Enforcing best practices and requirements
- Supporting API gateways/proxies and improving technical architecture
- Auditing API implementations
- Improving API lifecycle governance
- Researching new technologies for system integration and producing proof of concept implementations

Health Insurance - Public Employee Health Program (PEHP):

Retirement - Utah Retirement Systems (URS):
- Employees who have any service credit with an employer covered by the Utah Retirement Systems prior to 7/1/2011 are in the Tier I Public Employees System.
- Employees hired on or after 7/1/2011 and who have never been in the URS retirement system have two options for retirement in the Tier II System.
- Tier 2 Hybrid Retirement System. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary between both plans (pension and 401(k))
- Tier 2 Defined Contribution Plan. Employer contributes an amount equal to 10% of your salary to a 401(k) plan only.
- Employer contributions to your 401(k) are vested after four years.
Paid Time Off:
- Annual leave and sick leave are accrued at 4 hours per pay period each (4 hours annual, 4 hours sick).

Responsibilities
- Maintain the integration platforms through which internal development teams will connect applications.
- Support capacity planning and management activities to ensure that the integration platforms will be able to handle current and future transaction volume.
- Help troubleshoot and resolve production issues related to the integration platforms. Support root cause analysis.
- Support product planning and roadmap definition.
- Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of enterprise integration.
- Proactively work with internal and external stakeholders to acquire a deep understanding of their requirements and business needs.
- Work closely with our internal product teams to ensure that the integration platforms can be used to enable the required use cases and scenarios across the organization.
- Coordinate the definition of API and integration strategy with stakeholders.
- Participate in the integration center of excellence.
- Facilitate training/community of practice sessions on best practices for building an API.
- Attend Q&A discussions with enterprise teams regarding API design.
- Document and ensure compliance with all organizational security requirements
- Support production releases of solutions.
- Support IT projects and initiatives to improve and enhance the platforms.
- Participate in user groups, committees, and other collaborative efforts to promote and educate the user community on the benefits of the platforms and services provided.
- Make recommendations to leadership about how the platforms can be improved or reworked to better serve our stakeholders.
- Review documentation, design, and architecture and get into the code when needed.

- Designing and implementing an API platform for high traffic API solutions
- Integrating multiple systems and data mapping
- API management / Enterprise Service Bus / iPaaS technologies
- Agile methodologies and tools
- Working in an agile/scrum/SAFe environment
