As Vice President/CMO at Marymount Hospital, you will serve as an executive leader, guiding a high-performing team of seasoned and emerging directors and caregivers. You will drive continuous improvement initiatives, evaluate healthcare services and enhance the operational, governing and financial authority of the facility. Using your skills in strategic planning and implementation, you will develop goals and objectives consistent with the enterprise mission while establishing impactful relationships with Cleveland Clinic Clinical Institutes and private practice providers across the area. A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00AM-5:00PM.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Create and collaborate in implementing a shared vision of an integrated healthcare delivery system that is consistent with the mission, priorities and strategic goals of the organization.


  • Design and implement an organizational structure for system operations that will best achieve the objectives, mission, vision and values of Cleveland Clinic.


  • Provide leadership, direction and education in the development of a system-wide environment, taking advantage of the system's great diversity.


  • Promote mutual accountability and support through the collective participation of affiliated entities, establishing and linking them to system-wide objectives, goals, operating efficiencies and strategic positioning.


  • Work with Institute Chairs and other Cleveland Clinic leaders to develop and implement programs for quality improvement activities, ongoing monitoring of patients, continuing medical education and utilization review.


  • Contribute to and execute a comprehensive regional strategy, including market growth and the integration of affiliated entities.


  • Supervise and direct the clinical activities of professionals reporting to the hospital and the institutes in the hospital.


  • Support the research and education activities of professionals and institutes in the regional structures.


  • Develop and maintain meaningful, collaborative relationships with private medical practitioners within the regional hospital.


  • Collaborate with and develop initiatives with the appropriate Medical Executive Committees.


  • Lead and develop an administrative team assigned to manage all functions of the regional hospital.


  • Provide financial stewardship over the performance of the regional hospital.


  • Partner with leaders in Clinical Transformation and Quality to generate clinical transformation and patient safety initiatives.


  • In connection with Government Affairs, develop and foster meaningful relationships with communities and community leaders in the market around the regional hospital.


  • Work with leaders across the Cleveland Clinic Health System to ensure collaboration among the various constituencies within the regional hospital and centralized support services functions, such as Human Resources, Finance, Medical Staff Services, IT and other areas.


Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)


  • Licensed to practice medicine through the state of Ohio as a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine


  • Board certification in the physician's specialty


  • Five years of progressively responsible management experience in a hospital or healthcare system


  • Established track record of integrating and transforming diverse cultures and organizations


Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Master's Degree in Healthcare/Hospital Administration, Business Administration or a related field
  • Experience leading in a highly matrixed organization
  • Proven experience delivering top quartile quality and safety performance
  • Demonstrated responsibility managing profits and losses and representing strong financial stewardship
