Job Title: Environmental Project Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an Environmental Project Manager with over 7 years of experience to support our growing environmental site investigation, remediation, and compliance practice in our Metro Detroit office. The ideal candidate is a seasoned environmental consulting professional with the motivation and desire to foster technical excellence and strong client relationships.
Responsibilities
  • Manage project teams, delegate tasks to office and field staff, and execute daily project activities
  • Handle project contractual and financial issues, including terms of agreement, changes in scope, and billing processes
  • Mentor and train junior staff of project-level scientists and engineers
  • Monitor team performance for compliance with contractual agreements and budgets
  • Conduct site compliance inspections
  • Prepare proposals and review/write environmental reports with Principal guidance and review
  • Conduct/review technical analyses and calculations
  • Participate in meetings and agency consultations
  • Conduct internal and client communications
  • Provide business development support
  • Assist on projects and tasks outside of primary responsibilities as needed
  • Travel up to 40%, including local, regional, and occasionally national trips
Essential Skills
  • Experience in remediation, site assessment, and project management
  • Expertise in Environmental Science
  • Experience with ESA (Environmental Site Assessments)
  • Knowledge of environmental site investigations, GIS, and environmental compliance
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Geological/Hydrogeology, or Environmental Sciences (advanced degree is a plus)
  • 7+ years of experience in environmental site assessment, investigation, and soil and groundwater remediation
  • Experience at consulting engineering firms
  • Knowledge of applicable Federal and Michigan laws and regulations (experience in adjacent states is a plus)
  • Strong understanding of field sampling and investigative protocols
  • Strong knowledge of contaminants' fate and transport in subsurface and experience in conceptual site model development
  • Experience in database and GIS
  • Experience with statistical data review
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Experience preparing technical reports
  • Possession of or completion of 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training
  • Professional registration (PE/PG/LSRP or other) strongly preferred
  • Self-starter with the ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Ability to maintain strong and consistent client outreach
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bringing a book of clients or potential clients is a plus
  • Experience in business development and networking
Work Environment

Our work environment is known for its excellent culture-fun and very collaborative. We have a diversified book of business and offer flexible work hours, including hybrid work options as needed. This role qualifies for ownership opportunities within the company and can advance to principal levels. The work is split between the office and various customer sites, including manufacturing facilities and construction sites.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
