Title: Field Oversight Environmental Health Safety (EHS) Representative
Position Type: Contract

Reports to: Project Manager
Status: Non-Exempt
Key Project Requirements:
7+ years of EHS experience on active power plant construction projects, with strong knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations.
Proven ability to identify and mitigate hazardous conditions, conduct site inspections, and support incident investigations.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination with field teams and project leadership.
Job Summary:
PIC Group has a great opportunity for a power plant conversion project in central California. The Field Oversight Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Representative reports directly to the Project Manager, and will be responsible for the successful and timely completion of the overall project construction. The Field Oversight EHS Representative will ensure that the project is performed safely and within the specified instruction given by the Project Manager. The Field Oversight EHS Representative plays a critical role in the project's performance, overseeing work being performed and maintaining overall health and environmental safety.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Actively support the client's overall safety commitment as well as the safety commitment to the project.
Assist in the administration of project safety to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Oversee the construction team's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) program on site.
Conduct regular site walk downs to ensure that all activities are being performed as per the site HSE instructions.
Assist in identifying, documenting, and recommending solutions to hazardous and potentially hazardous conditions and provide follow up to ensure that conditions have been corrected.
Assist in the investigations of personnel injury property damage or near miss incidents.
Compiles data, photographs, and prepares all pertinent forms and reports in accordance with program procedures.
Ensure that all Federal, State and Local regulations are being followed associated with accidents and near misses.
Job Requirements:
Prior hands-on experience supporting EHS efforts on active power plant or heavy industrial construction projects.
Strong working knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
Proven ability to identify, assess, and mitigate workplace hazards in a dynamic construction environment.
Experience conducting field inspections, audits, and safety walkthroughs, with clear documentation and follow-up.
Skilled in incident response and investigation, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
Proficient in writing and maintaining EHS reports, logs, and compliance documentation.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with project teams, contractors, and leadership.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders/stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Work may involve exposure to hazardous materials and requires use of appropriate PPE.
Must be flexible to work extended hours, including weekends and holidays, based on project needs.
Education / Experience:
High School Diploma required.
Four-year occupational safety and health degree OR the equivalent combination of technical training and 10+ years industrial related safety experience.
Degreed candidates should have 7+ years of HSE construction experience.
Compensation:
The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $60-$70.
